Mystic Prophecy is a power metal band from Bad Grönenbach, Germany. They have been described as sounding like US-power metal, similar to bands such as Iced Earth (due to the riffing and use of drumming), but still without losing the melodies found in European power metal.
The band was formed by Valley's Eve bandmates R.D. Liapakis and Martin Albrecht. Gus G. was recommended to them by David T. Chastain. He played all guitars on the three first albums, but left in 2005 to spend more time on his other band Firewind.
Satanic Curses, their fifth album, was released in Europe through Massacre Records on October 23, 2007, and in the U.S. via Locomotive Records on November 11.
Some months after the release of their album "Satanic Curses" Mathias Straub was no longer in the band. Reasons why are unknown. The band found a replacement in Stefan Dietrich, who played on their "Satanic Curses-tour" with Primal Fear, and is a full time member since then.
In July, 2008, it was stated at Blabbermouth.net that guitarist Martin Grimm and the band's only bassist Martin Albrecht left the band to lay focus on their family lives instead.
In August, 2008, there was a new statement at Blabbermouth.net that a replacement for Martin Grimm had been found. New guitarist was found in Constantine. At the end of October, 2008, it was announced that the band had found a new bassplayer named Connie Andreszka.
